Cupid Sparkle! (とっとこくるりん! キューピットなの) is the 208th episode of the anime series, Hamtaro.

Plot Summary[]

Everyone is excited, Glitter and Sparkle are finally coming back to Japan! As Laura and her friends prepare for Glitter's arrival from America, the Ham-Hams decide to throw a welcoming party for Sparkle at the Jewelry House. As usual, their antics unintentionally irritate the pop star. When Sparkle complains about the Jewelry House's lack of treats, Hamtaro and the others eagerly usher her through the portal to the Sweets Paradise. There, she is is introduced to Lapis and Lazuli, who she immediately decides she dislikes. As she finishes setting out food for the party, Lapis offers a piece of cake to Hamtaro as a friendly gesture. Sparkle witnesses this interaction and concludes that they must be in love. So before the party can get underway, she drags Bijou away from the others and demands to know what is going on. Bijou is confused and expresses that she would like if everyone got along, including Hamtaro and Lapis. Invigorated by these words, Sparkle promises Bijou that she will make Hamtaro fall in love with her instead of Lapis.

From there, Sparkle takes control of the party, making the others participate in various "romantic" activities to strengthen Hamtaro and Bijou's love. These efforts backfire spectacularly, Suddenly, she notices a jelly lake and requests that they all take a boat ride, which the others think is a wonderful idea. However, because she was too busy daydreaming about Hamtaro and Bijou, everyone besides Sparkle and Hamtaro already got on their boats. As Hamtaro rows their boat, Sparkle realizes that she still loves the oblivious orange hamster very much. While she contemplates her feelings, Hamtaro loses his balance and falls off the boat. Sparkle tries to save Hamtaro from falling into the jelly, but quickly discovers that it's only a couple of centimeters deep. Now embarrassed, the idol hamster stuffs sweets in her face out of spite, sarcastically remarking that Sweets Paradise is the very best. Unaware of her inner turmoil, the Ham-Hams agree and continue to play in the lake.
