Hamtaro: Starry Sky Romance (哈姆太郎 星空奇緣) is a PC game released in Taiwan in or around 2002. It would be followed by a sequel known as Hamtaro: Starry Night Tour.

Overview

Hamtaro: Starry Sky Romance features a selection of six minigames and educational programs, including:

• Twelve Zodiac Constellations (十二星座) - An educational program detailing the twelve zodiac constellations. Each constellation is narrated by one or two Ham-Hams that share the zodiac sign (e.g. Bijou for Cancer). The program also features a text summary of the history of horoscopes, as well as a zodiac compatibility chart.
• Solar System (太陽系) - An educational program detailing the Solar System, with text summaries and narration.
• Memory Test (記憶大考驗) - A card-matching game.
• Golden Hamster Attack (黃金鼠大進擊) - A Whac-A-Mole-like game where the player must hit sunflower seeds while avoiding touching chocolates.
• Golden Hamster Crossing the River (黃金鼠過河) - A Frogger-like game in which the player must jump across sunflowers and leaves to guide five Ham-Hams to the top of the screen.
• Balloon Defense (氣球保衛戰) - The player must guide a balloon to the top of the screen while dodging sharp obstacles, which pop the balloon upon contact.

Trivia

• The Twelve Zodiac Constellations opening menu states that the remaining, non-zodiac constellations will be detailed at a later date. This may be referring to the later-released Hamtaro: Starry Night Tour game, which details more constellations as part of its "stargazing tips" (though is still heavily focused on the zodiac constellations).
• Due to predating its classification as a dwarf planet, Pluto is still referred to as a planet in the Solar System game.
• If the player attempts to play Memory Test without pressing the dedicated start button, the game glitches and displays every single card as Maxwell.
