Radar (みみよりくん) is a hamster who appeared in Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak and Rainbow Rescue. He also stars in the Japanese episode "You're Late, Prince!", in which he marries Princess Championi.
Character description[]
Radar has a white base coat with mouse-gray markings. Much like his name suggests, his tall, scoop-like ears are his defining feature. According to his biography in Hamuchanzu de Gozaimachu! Vol.2, these ears allow him to hear faraway sounds with ease. He also has a conspicuously long tail, which is another unique feature of his design.
Overview[]
In the Hamtaro video game series, Radar is a cheery, bright-eyed reporter always looking to get the big scoop. He is best friends and partners with Drizzle.
In the anime, Radar's personality is quite different. He's a scatterbrain, always late for something or another. In fact, he's often so busy worrying about being late that he forgets important information or possessions and doesn't realize until long after. He has a poor sense of direction and completely forgets the way to places he's already been to before.
Radar is oblivious and makes unwittingly rude comments, mistaking Lazuli's house for a hotel - then proceeding to rudely call it a "hovel" - despite her many attempts to tell him otherwise. He also says she has a "weird face" when he mistook her for Championi, further angering Lazuli. However, despite his blunt attitude, he means well.

In his anime debut, Radar is a prince who traveled far and wide to get a wedding present for his fiancee, Princess Championi. He was extremely worried that he wouldn't be able to make it to the wedding ceremony in time and was distraught. He is often very distracted and one-track-minded, but once he hears anything about Championi, he snaps out of his thoughts.
Drizzle[]
Radar and Drizzle are best friends and work partners in Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak. Drizzle serves as the weather-ham for his newspaper column. In the anime, however, the two do not interact in any episodes.
