Tottoko Hamutaro: Hamuchanzu de Gozaimachu! Vol.2 (とっとこハム太郎 ハムちゃんずでございまちゅ 2) is a manga tankōbon released in 2001 by Shogakukan. It is the follow-up to Gozaimachu! Vol.1, featuring additional chapters (originating from Shogakukan's "Second Grade" Learning Magazine) that were not included in the prior installment. It was later followed by a Volume 3.
Overview[]
The first several pages feature color illustrations, with a small beginning story. This leads to a map of Ham-Ham Land, showing the entire town.
On pages 20 to 24 is a "Hamuchans Pin-Up" (ハムちゃんず ピンナップ), showing pictures of 86 different Ham-Hams. This includes all of the main Ham-Hams, alongside some more obscure secondary characters. Many of these characters - such as Shampoo, Donohamu, and Kantoku - were very rarely used in other Hamtaro media (though the majority of them did receive figures from XLC Co.).
Following the Pin-Up are the actual stories, now in black-and-white, which include:
- Secret Ham-Ham House (pg. 25) - An introduction to the Ham-Hams and their characteristics.
- Glittering Otoshimono (pg. 43) - The Ham-Hams find a key during Christmas.
- Secret Tokkun (pg. 51) - Atsu-kun sneaks out at night to play in the snow.
- Bijou's Ribbon (pg. 59) - Hamtaro takes one of Bijou's ribbons and uses it as a blindfold, not recognizing it as hers; this makes Bijou very upset. Following this, Hamtaro hurts his foot; Bijou immediately runs to help him, tying her ribbon around his foot. They make up and are happy together again.
- Big House Explosion (pg. 67) - On a rainy day, Hamtaro gnaws on all the wood of the Ham-Ham house, leaving it half-destroyed. The Ham-Hams work together to fix up the house; but in attempt to combat a water puddle, they accidentally push it off a table, destroying it completely. But at the end, Ji-chan begins building them a new house, and gives the soaking Ham-Hams an umbrella.
- Naisho no Pool (pg. 75) - Atsu and Akari go to a swimming pool, with the Ham-Hams secretly following behind.
- Exciting Summer Adventure (pg. 83) - The Ham-Hams go to visit Elder Ham and Auntie Viv in the sunflower field. But in their excitement, Pashmina falls into the water, unable to escape. She is rescued under guidance of the elders.
- Ji-chan's Memories (pg. 92) - The Ham-Hams go to see the cherry blossoms.
