Tottoko Hamutaro: Tomodachi Daisakusen Dechu (とっとこハム太郎: ともだち大作戦でちゅ) is a Game Boy Color video game released by Nintendo. The game was the first in Nintendo's Hamtaro series, and was released exclusively in Japan (whereas future entries in the series would make their way to North America and Europe). The game is based on the books that were released in Japan under the Hamtaro name. In the game you have conversations with Hamtaro.

Unlike its successors, this game is play using a real-time internal clock that keeps track of the current time. Also the player does not controls Hamtaro or follow Hamtaro on his adventure, which he takes from time to time.

Trivia[]

Tomodachi Daisakusen Dechu Game Boy Color Screen

The only appearance of Boss in Tomodachi Daisakusen Dechu.

  • This game marks the first known appearance of Hamstarr in official Hamtaro media.
  • This game was composed by Satoko Yokota.
  • The Ham-Hams as seen in this game contain some notable differences from the main 2000 anime, suggesting that development began before the anime was finalized.
    • Cappy's swimming cap is colored teal, as it had been in Tottoko Hamutaro Anime Dechu! and other pre-2000 anime material.
    • Penelope's yellow blanket does not cover her entire body, as it does in media since the main anime first premiered.
    • Jingle is treated as a main Ham-Ham, as he had been in early Hamtaro materials as late as Tomodachi Daisakusen Dechu's sequel.
    • Stan is notably absent entirely, while Boss only makes an appearance on the "This game is compatible only with Game Boy Color' screen, which was likely added very late into the game's development.
