Woody Haruna is Laura's grandfather and married to Willow Haruna. He is an inventor, creating Robo-Joe.
It is also possible that he has a student in Robotics in the episode A Big Change for Robo-Joe! as the mysterious American competitor had known him from previously, but this is never confirmed.
